Dear Coconut Creek High School parents, students and community,

It is an honor and privilege to serve as principal of Coconut Creek High School.

This coming year offers many highlights as students have planned exciting activities and are "ramping up" the Cougar spirit. You can feel the energy.

We will be increasing the use of cutting edge technology, increased support for the arts, further offerings and involvement in activities, clubs and sports. Every aspect of school improvement will be addressed with "thoughtful urgency".

We have already begun a "face lift" of areas of our facility, are creating a state-of-the-art media production center and are planning the initiation of a magnet program focusing on 21st century learning and global connections.

I am sure you will see renewed energy as we take Cougar Country to its Renaissance. Your ideas and thoughts are always welcome. Please become involved in our school and attend our many award winning productions.

Attention Parents
Among the measures associated with the Broward County Public Schools’ high school reform initiative is the opportunity for the faculty at our school to elect to schedule additional professional development time to enhance the knowledge and effectiveness of our teachers.
Student performance data clearly show a direct correlation between the time devoted to professional development of teachers and the academic performance of students. With this in mind, the District has launched a program in which the faculty at Coconut Creek High School can elect to schedule up to eight (8) early release days for students in order to allow time for professional development programs for teachers.
Our staff has voted to utilize (6) days, and the Professional Study Days Committee consisting of parents and faculty has outlined the professional development programs and activities for the staff.

PSD dates are:

On the Professional Study Days, students will be released at 11:41AM. School bus transportation will run as usual, and school lunch WILL NOT be provided. If you have any further questions about the Professional Study Days, please call 754-322-0350.
